Responsible party in terms of data protection laws:

Jim Wilken (sole proprietor) – address and contact details see Imprint. Email: info@wilken-technologies.com (hereinafter also referred to as 'we' or 'us').

We take the protection of your personal data very seriously. Below we inform you in accordance with GDPR, TTDSG and other applicable data protection regulations about the processing of your personal data when using our website and the functions offered.

General Information on Data Processing

Scope of processing of personal data: We generally only process your personal data to the extent necessary to provide a functional website and our content and services. Processing is purpose-bound and limited to what is necessary.

Legal bases: If we obtain consent from you for processing operations, Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR serves as the legal basis. If processing is necessary for the performance of a contract to which you are a party, or for the implementation of pre-contractual measures at your request (e.g., for inquiries via the contact form), it is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR. If processing is necessary to safeguard our legitimate interests or those of third parties and your interests, fundamental rights and fundamental freedoms do not prevail, Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR serves as the legal basis. In addition, certain processing may be based on further legal bases (e.g., legal retention obligations under Art. 6 para. 1 lit. c GDPR in conjunction with commercial or tax laws).

Storage period: We only store personal data for as long as is necessary for the respective stated purposes or we are legally obliged to do so (legal retention periods under HGB, AO, etc.). If the purpose of data processing ceases to apply or a legal retention period expires, we routinely delete or anonymize the data in accordance with legal requirements.

Technical and organizational measures: We take appropriate technical and organizational measures (TOM) in accordance with Art. 32 GDPR to protect your data against loss, misuse, unauthorized access or disclosure. These include in particular the use of SSL/TLS encryption when transmitting data via our website, limited access rights to data, the pseudonymization or anonymization of personal data, regular backups and contractual agreements with service providers to ensure data protection.

Provision of the Website and Server Log Files

When you access our website, certain access data is automatically collected by our hosting provider (Vercel) in so-called server log files. This data includes, for example:

  • IP address of the requesting device, date and time of the request, requested page/file (URL) and HTTP status code, amount of data transferred, website from which the request comes (referrer URL), browser type and version, operating system used.

This data is technically necessary to deliver the website you requested and to ensure system security. A combination of this log data with other data sources is not carried out; the log files are automatically deleted or anonymized after 7 days at the latest.

Legal basis: Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR (legitimate interest). Our legitimate interest lies in the technical provision of the website and ensuring IT security (e.g., defense against attacks). The collection of data for the provision of the website and storage in log files is absolutely necessary for the operation of the website; consequently, there is no possibility for you to object.

Contact Form and Contact

If you contact us via the contact form provided on the website or by email, we process the data you provide (in particular name, email address and the content of your message) to process your request. Mandatory fields in the contact form are marked as such; without providing them, we cannot process your request.

This communication is confidential. The data is used exclusively to answer your request and the associated technical administration. Depending on the nature of your inquiry, further personal data may be relevant that you voluntarily provide to us (e.g., telephone number for inquiries).

Legal basis: Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR, if the request is aimed at concluding a contract or is directly related to an existing contractual relationship (e.g., inquiry about our products/services). Otherwise, we base the processing on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR (legitimate interest in answering inquiries and maintaining business relationships).

Storage period: We delete the data as soon as it is no longer required for the purpose of processing (usually after answering your inquiry) and there are no legal retention obligations. In the case of inquiries that lead to a business relationship, the data may be stored longer in accordance with commercial and tax law retention obligations (usually 6-10 years).
